“Write On! Journaling Your Way from Surviving to Thriving”
Our voices matter and too often we are silenced by systems of oppression and experiences that are supposed to keep us small, silent, and second-guessing ourselves. Writing can be a very powerful tool for healing and recovery as it opens ways to be creative, grow, and challenge ourselves. Writing makes many people FEEL and can then makes us feel BETTER. This workshop was designed solely to provide an opportunity for self-expression, with a focus on personal and community healing and transformation. Through writing and discussion, we’ll reflect on the healing benefit of writing. You will have the opportunity to share your writing with others in the workshop if you so choose (sharing is optional).
1. Understand how writing can be a powerful tool in healing, recovery, and empowerment.
2. Explore different methods of journaling and its purpose.
3. Discover a writing or journaling technique that promotes your own healing.
4. Create a writing ritual or routine that will encourage and support your healing journey.
