Shamari Hayes is a St. Louis native and a proud product of the St. Louis Public School District. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in: Education, Black Studies, and Human Development and Family Studies (HD_FS) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, along with a Certificate of Diversity. Hayes received a Master of Educational Administration from the University of Missouri- St. Louis and is currently working on a Ph. D. in Educational Leadership and Policy.
In the spirit of Sankofa, Hayes returned to St. Louis Public Schools as a Culturally Responsive educator. She speaks on Cultural Competence forums and specializes in Culturally Relevant curriculum designing. Hayes sponsors and coordinates an annual community event in her childhood neighborhood, which aims to tackle some of the challenges that plague the community.
